Discord and Design at St Mary's Church with Dr. Mauro Calcagno

What:

Join one of Rodin's Faculty Fellows, Dr. Mauro Calcagno, from the Music Department and explore themes of loss and longing with violinist, Min Young Kim and Variant 6!

The show starts at 4 PM, but meet Dr. Calcagno in the Mezzanine, by the Information Desk at 3:30 to walk over together!

"Violinist Min-Young Kim and Variant 6 present a program that examines loss and longing through the lens of J. S. Bach. The heart of this program is musicologist Helga Thoene’s interpretation of Bach’s Chaconne for violin, composed after the death of his first wife, interwoven with “hidden” chorales sung by the members of Variant 6. In addition to this centerpiece work, the artists will bring together a series of a cappella Bach chorales paired with contemporary reflections. Composers include Zosha di Castri, Gabriel Jackson, Cecilia MacDowell, Santa Ratniece, and others."

Please RSVP on the House Website! First come, first serve - only 6 spots available!
